A Summer Exhibition on Steroids!
Delighted to be chosen to exhibit at Yardley Arts Summer Exhibition 2026. Yardley Arts CIC is a wonderful gallery space in the village of Yardley Hastings in Northamptonshire. Once an old school hall it has large rooms, good light, a sculpture garden and is owned and curated by Polly Parrish. This was the gallery's first Summer Exhibition and the quality of art, sculpture and photography was sensationally good. Definitely a Summer Exhibition on steroids!
I was thrilled to sell my painting Cellist in Blue. She is immersed in the quiet space between breath and bow, where music becomes something felt rather than heard. The cello anchors her in a moment of stillness while around her the fish drift and circle, responding to the invisible currents of resonance.
The painting explores music as movement — a surreal rhythm flowing through both figure and space — where emotion travels beyond language and into atmosphere.
I was inspired by watching a woman playing during a photographic workshop at my studio and the work became less about performance and more about surrendering to the hypnotic pull of music itself.
